Our Story

Vocal Communities was created by three 20-something BAME (Black, Asian & Minority Ethnicities) activists from Waltham Forest, East London. We recognised a lack of resources for the people within our BAME communities. We also noticed a common feeling of reluctance from these communities to seek help from local authorities or a lack of awareness for the help that is out there.

For these reasons, we decided to create a non-partisan organisation that would help marginalised communities find their voice. We have since advocated for various issues that affect our communities from knife crime and school exclusions to COVID-19. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of marginalised people.
